Ibiza in May

medieval ibiza ponienteThe first of the Ibiza opening parties means the first of the direct flights and with them the crowds of sun hungry Ibiza lovers start to take shape.  Families make the most of the early sunshine and cheaper hotels and the clubbers descend to take in the opening fiestas.  There is something magical about the month of May as Ibiza starts coming back to life after a winter of hibernation.

Ibiza weather in May: Cool and fresh in the evenings but during the days with temperatures sliding into the 20’s, you’ll definitely need your sunscreen.

Ibiza parties in May: Clubs have begun to announce their openings from the very early doors of May, with Zoo (so far) taking the first spot on the 3rd.  From then on you’ll find clubs and the individual nights going head to head to attract the crowds throughout the month.

We recommend: Kicking off the second week in May is the Medieval Fair, where Ibiza Town is transformed back in time to the middle ages and the streets are lined with food, fair and alot of medieval fun.  On May 20th-22nd The International Music Summit 2020 brings three days of electronic music and industry discussion hosted by some of the biggest influencing artists and held this year at the rather beautiful Pacha Ibiza resort of Destino. Ibiza in June

openings ibiza ponienteJune in Ibiza brings the perfect balance.  Hotter days and warmer nights means more holiday makers begin flocking to the island, but as we’re not yet in full summer swing there are still some great Ibiza bargains to be had.

Ibiza weather in June:  A light jacket in the evening will help take the edge off as you take in the famous Ibiza sunset but fear not, during the days you’ll find the temperature gauge taking steps towards those roasting 30’s.

Ibiza parties in June: The month heats up with even more early season parties and opening fiestas as the island fully come to life.  Luckily the transport is made easy with Discosbus starting its summer timetable to ship you safely from San Antonio to the clubs across the island.  If you’re looking for tickets to your nights of choice, don’t forget you can buy them all directly from our reception at The Poniente Playa Ibiza.

We recommend: Making the most of the quieter beaches.  Why not take a boat from the San Antonio port across to Cala Tarida or Cala Bassa.  Less crowds mean more white sands to yourself and in most spots at this time of year the water will be beautifully crystal clear. See our hotel deals for June

Ibiza in July

You’ve arrived, we’ve arrived, the next two months of madness has finally arrived. As the club hungry crowds step off the plane and straight into the Ibiza parties, there’s a vibe across the island that lets us all know that the real fun has only just begun.

Ibiza weather in July:
HOT, HOT, HOT days lead to sweaty nights as the temperatures soar well into the 30’s. Don’t forget your fan.

Ibiza parties in July: The Ibiza party calendar will look like the ultimate pick and mix bag where you get to try something new and exciting every day and night.  From beach club to night club and pool parties where a unicorn lilo is the ultimate accessory, the Ibiza has every party need covered.

We recommend: If the most you’ve explored of the big blue sea is taking a quick break to recover from the blazing sun, then we recommend getting out onto the ocean.  Afternoon cruises to secret coves and sunset swims, where you’ll watch the sun taking its final bow whilst bobbing upon the water, make for magical days you’ll never forget.  You can see our reception or contact us for all our boat cruise recommendations. Ibiza in August

nightclub ibiza ponienteAfter a month of July madness we move into the second round where the island reaches its peak numbers and there is an electric atmosphere to Ibiza at this time, as the non stop nights bring the never ending fun.

Ibiza weather in August: It’s still a roaster! With temperatures still in the 30’s we reckon the only thing you’ll need to pack are your swim shorts or bikinis.

Ibiza parties in August:
Be prepared for full clubs and long queues as the parties reach their penultimate numbers.  But with the big crowds come big rewards this is when you’re likely meet your new best friends for life and create memories you’ll cherish forever.

We recommend: The ultimate gig opens this month as the Radio One weekender rolls back into San Antonio.  Tickets are free but in high demand and you’ll need to keep an eye on the website to find out more.  Hosted in San Antonio Ibiza every year - where The Poniente Playa has prime location - you see the town swell in numbers as people make their way here for it.  We recommend getting your accommodation booking in early to make sure you don’t miss out. Ibiza in September

drums ibiza poniente

September is a month of two halfs. The beginning brings more of a chilled vibe as the heat begins to release its grip and you’ll find a little more space on the roads, in the clubs and on the beaches.  However as we move to the end of the month and the first of the closing parties start taking place, you’ll see the dance crazy crowds filling the island once more to wave their goodbyes.

Ibiza weather in September: As the temperatures drop from the crazy 30’s into the more manageable 20’s and you can finally stop wiping your upper lip every 4 seconds.

Ibiza parties in September: Make the most of extra elbow room on the dancefloor as the month rolls in, before acting like sardines again as you dance your almost final goodbyes to the season as the month rolls back out.

We recommend:
We all know what the clubs have on offer, but why not get out and explore some of the other dancing options across the island?  One of our favourites is on Sunday's at the beautiful Benirras beach, where at sunset the drummers come together to lead the hot ball in the sky down towards the sea, it really is an event not to be missed.  If you are looking for something mid week then why not try Las Dalias.  You'll probably know the name from the well known Hippie Markets they run every week, but this is a little different.  Namaste every Wednesday showcases live talent, with bands, DJ's and performances taking you through late evening until the early hours.  See our hotel deals for September

Ibiza in October

esvedra ibiza ponienteA little like September but in reverse, we begin the month with the final flurry of goodbyes as the nights and clubs shut their doors for the last time this season.  However come at this time and stay a few days after the closing parties and you can enjoy deserted beaches, no queues at the bar and prime seats in the restaurants, all yours for the taking.

Ibiza weather in October: Cool, calm and collected, the weather in October is the ideal temperature.  With day temperatures back in the 20’s and a cooler feel to the air you can finally get a good night’s sleep without a fan whizzing away in the background.

Ibiza parties in October: In the beginning weeks it's the best of the best.  From Amnesia’s crazy closing weekender to DC10’s sell out goodbyes, this is the week that has it all.  Expect big crowds and sell out gigs but nights you’ll remember for a lifetime.

We recommend: If you are yet to see Es Vedra then now is the time.  This rather large piece of rock sticking out of the sea is actually no ordinary piece of rock.  Filled with a magnetic magic it is her you have to thank for the special sparkle Ibiza brings to your life each and every year.
